Is Cocktailjurken using evite to send out wedding invitations the lastest craze?
anna "doggy mommy" c. I mean, most of your guests will take a look at it and say, oh, it's nice, but eventually it goes in the trash. Printing + postage can easily run $5 per. If you're sending out 200, that's $1000! That's money that can be spend elsewhere. Also, it saves resources - paper and ink. Another thing, the post office lose things all the time. I didn't receive 2 of my friends' invites, one even sent it twice! Didn't know I was missing the invites until I was called by the bride to asked why I haven't RSVP.

Even if it is tacky you said the evite was from a friend so I don't think you should be so harsh for fear of sounding tacky yourself. If you haven't planned a wedding on your own then you may not realize all the costs involved be it small, large or "casual". Maybe Sexy Trouwjurken the bride had to give up paper invitations to be able to afford something else. Either way you were invited and if you attend try not to be so judgmental on their happy day.

Yup, looking back on it, I wouldn't have spent so much on mine. Photoframing your wedding Trouwjurk 2012 invitation? Sounds cute for a few months, but eventually all your paper keepsakes end up in a scrapbook. Woohoo!

Wow- there are some harsh critics this morning. We sent wedding evites. We planned our wedding in 5 weeks because we were moving and selling our house because of a sudden job change. It was the most expeditious way to get the word out.
No, we were not cheap in other elements of out celebration. It was just a time and convenience issue. I'll consider myself fortunate that I must have great friends because no one complained about our tackiness. They all came and said it was the most enjoyable wedding they've been to.
Remember the whole "they're inviting you" concept. You can always politely decline.

Should they also use film instead of digital photography for their wedding pictures?
Demand that no reception food is cooked with infrared ovens.
Require only vinyl records be played at the reception.
Ask all the guests to arrive by horse an buggy?
It's just communications using newer technology. it save times, money and natural resources.

A friend of my recently sent an evite wedding invitation. I didn't think it was tacky and it was a pretty non-traditional small wedding in mexico. For them, it was the ecological way to invite who they wanted to invite and they're not the type to keep the wedding invite in a scrap book (as they've got a website for the wedding that's their virtual scrapbook for the event).
