The first answer was right, Cocktailjurken it ruins the surprise. The "bad luck" thing started in the days of arranged marriages. There was a strong chance that the bride and/or groom would decide that they didn like the look of each other and back out of the wedding. The bride veil was also constructed of much thicker cloth(hence the custom of the father escorting her down the aisle; she couldn see, or get away) for the same reason.
I know that you excited about the dress, and want to share it with him, but let im be stunned by the image of you walking down the aisle. That a memory that can be replaced. Also, it doesn look the same on a model as it does on you. Let him only see YOU in your wedding gown!
Well it really does depend on you. Usually they say its bad luck for the groom to see the wedding dress at all until the moment in which the bride is walking down the isle. I personally feel that it adds the surprise element to your wedding, he will be hearing about flower arrangements, and food, and invitations, and guest etc. So having that little mystery will make the day all the better plus, if he sees the dress it wont be the same when he sees you walking down the isle. My brother and his wife did a picture before the ceremony - she came up behind him and he turned around to see his bride. really sweet.
As far as it being bad luck for him to see the dress, another superstition. mine helped me pick out my dress and it doesn seem to be a curse, but then again we have only been married 22 years :)
If he wants to see it fine, if not, fine. Feest Jurken Personally, I let him be surprised until just before Vloer Lengte Avondjurken the ceremony and then he can see how beautiful you are will be. Either way, Congratulations and enjoy your day.

i want my fiance to help me pick out the dress :D we have been together since we were only 14 16 (but wanted to get university finnished before we got married) and we do everything together and he always helps me go shopping and he has great taste and knows what he likes me in so id be lost without him. also i would hate to buy a dress that he didnt love and only thought was nice. i need the dress to be "god your are so gourgeous, i need to have you right now" :D i dont believe in bad luck with us (or most things really) i mean if its going to end in divorce just because he saw me in the dress before the wedding id just end it now lol.
not only has my fiance seen my dress he actually seen me in it.
We been together for almost 6 years and we have a 2 year old so for me him seeing me in my dress would not make a different. I don believe it not being a surprise on the day of the wedding even though he seen my dress I know that that day he will be very excited of seeing me all dress up walking down the aisle. but i understand people that are traditional and don think it a good idea but me and him are happy in the way we dealt with this situation which is the only thing that matters.
