Is it worth spending a small fortune on your wedding dress if youre only going to wear it once

It depends really what you call a fortune and your individual values.

I mean if we talking about the big white wedding and spending a fortune on the Big Day then yeah, you gotta spend a reasonable amuont on your dress.

However,if we talking a registry office and just a few close friends and family, then no, I don believe you have to spend a fortune on your dress just a simple floral number looks really classy I think.

All of the above being said I saw a photo of a wedding where the bride had bought her dress (great big white one) off eBay for 5p and it was stunning. However for me, this is the most important day of my life and, call me a snob, but I wouldn want to be wearing someone elses clothes. If you see it as a waste of money you could always get it made into christening dresses for children if you plan to have children (assuming you haven already).

Either way, having watched my best friend plan her wedding and seriously overspend, set a budget, divide it into seperate sections and stick to it.
