It not bad luck to make your own wedding dress. However, I been a bridal dressmaker and now work as a bridal consultant. Let me tell you this, if it your first wedding dress--you don want it to be your own, and I telling you that from firsthand experience. I thought I would be able to make my own wedding dress--sewing a wedding dress is MUCH more complex than simply sewing a dress, or tailoring a suit.
